East Lothian Co-Operative Bowling and Social Club

The East Lothian Co-operative Bowling Club was founded in February 1947, and is situated in the town of Tranent. For six years the Committee had to ask permission of other local clubs in the area if our members could play competitions on their greens. In June 1953 the members achieved their goal when they had their own green. Another three years, and in September 1956 the funds they had raised, and a clubhouse was built by the local Co-op Works Department.
